The Grey Realms
Long ago, the Grey Mountains were the passage into the Grey Realms, a sparsely populated kingdom in the northern reaches of the continent. Civil war erupted in the civilized realms of the world, and the entire world slipped into an Age of Darkness and loss of knowledge. The Grey Realms were deserted and fell into ruin. Hundreds of years have passed. The civilized world has recovered, and returned to the prosperity of the past. The world is largely explored, mapped, and well known, and adventurers are fewer and further between than ever before. But the Grey Realms remain unexplored and untamed. Knowledge of the Grey Realm was lost during the Age of Darkness. The chances for exploration, wealth, discovery, and fame are there for those among you who are brave enough to venture into the Grey Realms…
Welcome to the Grey Realms, the last uncivilized frontier of the world. This campagin is unique from what I’ve previously done. The Grey Realms is a sand-box open ended style campagin. From the villiage of Weyward, the players can make expeditions into the untamed Grey Realms in search of adventure, danger, and treasure. There’s plenty to discover out in the wild, and there is plenty of danger for those who travel unprepared; but that’s to be expected for adventurers, right?
The Grey Realms might be what you would call a hardcore campaign. Death is permanent. You will recieve semi-permanent injuries for falling in combat. Players will be expected to explore and create their own map of the Realms. Regions do not scale to player level. But amid all of this danger is freedom. The freedom to go anywhere in the world, explore anything they want,form parties with any group of PCs they want, and a freedom to tell their own story.
